Safety and child protection charter
Teedaïk is a network for learning and sharing. Everyone must feel safe here, especially the youngest. Here are the rules, how they are enforced and what happens to those who break them.
1. Age rule
- You must be at least 13 to create an account. Below that, signup is refused and an existing account is deactivated.
- Between 13 and 14, a parent or legal guardian's consent is required. From 13 to 17, the account is a protected teen account.
- Everyone's date of birth is requested, never shown, and can't be changed without proof. Lying about your age leads to account closure.
2. Protecting minors
- An adult can't message a minor privately, and a minor can only message other minors privately.
- Disappearing messages (snaps) are disabled as soon as a minor is in the conversation.
- A minor can't share their phone number, address or email: such messages are blocked automatically.
- Token purchases are disabled for minors. Only adults can open a Teedaïk Class.
- On public certificates, only a minor's first name and last initial are shown.
3. What is forbidden
- Any sexual content involving a minor, and any attempt to approach a minor (asking for photos, secret meetings, private details). Zero tolerance.
- Insults, hurtful mockery and any form of verbal violence or harassment.
- Threats, glorifying violence and hate speech (origin, religion, gender, disability…).
- Sexual or pornographic content in public spaces (posts, comments, lives, groups).
- Scams: requests for money or codes, fake winnings, fake job offers.
- Impersonating someone, lying about your age, or creating a new account to get around a sanction.
4. Automatic detection
- Every message, comment, post, story, live or meeting chat is checked before it's published, including disguised words (l3tt3rs, s.p.a.c.e.s, repeated letters).
- Forbidden content is blocked before anyone sees it. Serious cases (minors, threats, hate) are automatically flagged to the protection team.
- Private conversations aren't read by humans, except when a message has been blocked or reported: only that excerpt is then reviewed.
- A robot can make mistakes: every heavy sanction is reviewed by a team member, and you can appeal via support.
5. Sanction scale
- Each message blocked for insults, threats or hate counts as a warning (over a rolling 30 days).
- 3 warnings: 24 hours without posting or messaging.
- 5 warnings: 7-day restriction and account review by the team.
- 8 warnings, or any approach to a minor: immediate 30-day restriction pending the team's decision.
- Permanent ban for serious offences. Acts that may be crimes can be passed on to the competent authorities.
6. Reporting
- The 🚩 Report button is on every profile. Your report stays confidential.
- Reports involving a minor go to the top of the team's queue.
- Repeated false reports are also sanctioned.
7. Data and privacy
- Only a short excerpt of the blocked message is kept, so a human can check it.
- Only authorised protection team members can access it, and each of their actions is logged.
- Your date of birth is only used to apply these protections. It's never public or sold.
Need help?
If someone makes you uncomfortable, don't reply: block them, report them and talk to a trusted adult. You did nothing wrong. To appeal a sanction, contact support from settings.
